Two opportunities to get involved with Next System Studies are open right now — one for students, one for everyone.

We're accepting applications for the Spring 2027 Next System Fellows cohort, a selective Arlington Fellows program pairing GMU undergraduate and graduate students with an internship practicum, cohort courses, and a $1,000 honorarium.

And proposals are open for the Next System Teach-In at GMU, happening April 2027. The Next System Teach-Ins bring us together — on college campuses, in neighborhood centers, union halls, and public spaces — united in the work of building a system that sustains the future we all deserve. Unlike a conference or seminar, Teach-ins turn campuses into political fora where participants take collective responsibility for the crises we face. Submit a workshop, panel, performance, or whatever format fits — rough ideas are welcome at this stage.
