The Next Constitutions Research Lab houses the Constitutionalism and Democracy Movements Dataset (CDMD), combining qualitative and quantitative data about democracy movements, constitutional politics, constitutional change, macro socioeconomic and political economic conditions in the 24 Top 50 GDP countries that underwent formal constitution-making processes between 1974 and 2001. 

The Lab also serves as a hub for the International Research Collaborative on Revolutionary Constitutionalism (IRCRC). Founding members of this collaborative include:

This Special Collection will advance an emergent field of scholarly research, which is coalescing around the concept of “revolutionary constitutionalism”, understood as the participatory practices of a social movement in deliberating, articulating, and constituting a new social order.
