John Smith

John Smith is a former Next System Fellow (2025 Cohort) studying at George Mason University. He completed his bachelor's degree in the fall of 2025 and plans to continue with a master's in sociology and work with the Next Systems program. During his initial fellowship, he worked with Democratizing NOVA to organize and plan the 2025 DNOVA Summit, as well as serving as event photography. He served a similar role working as an intern and photographer for the Next System Teach In’s at GMU in November of 25.

Outside of the University, John works as a mathematics tutor, plays Dungeons & Dragons, enjoys video games, and writes music in his free time.
