Next System Studies (NSS) at George Mason University is seeking a Teach-In Organizer to manage and execute programming, logistics, and campus and community participation in the Next System Teach-In planned for GMU this November.
This role is ideal for individuals with experience in onsite event logistics and volunteer coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage a coalition of students, faculty, staff, and community volunteers leading up to and during the Teach-In.
- Develop and manage a multi-modal program for the Teach-In (e.g. panels, trainings, artistic expression, workshops, festivals, etc), in concert with the Teach-In coalition.
- Develop and implement onsite logistical plans for smooth event execution, including scheduling, task delegation, and contingency planning.
- Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for the Teach-In, providing guidance and support.
- Coordinate with the international Next System Teach-In Taskforce and staff, document and report on the Teach-In at GMU.
Time Commitment: 250 hours total
- 40 hours for the week of the Teach-In (likely the 2nd week of November).
- 200 hours leading up to the Teach-In, beginning August 1.
- 10 hours over the weeks following the Teach-In.
