How We Win: Energizing Strategies, Voters, and Agendas

New Publication: "How We Win"

Next System Studies is pleased to share that Director Ben Manski contributed his essay, 'Why Labor Unions Matter,' to "How We Win: Energizing Strategies, Voters, and Agendas" (Routledge), an exciting new handbook featuring contributions by Noam Chomsky, Bill McKibbon, Medea Benjamin, and more.

"How We Win" addresses would-be change agents, be they first-time voters, freshly minted activists, impacted communities, or veteran strategists, with insights and answers to burning questions about voting, organizing, and mobilization for social change. Readers will learn about activating their networks and communities not merely to vote in "emergency elections," but to build popular power and win their agendas -- regardless of who wins.

In his contribution, Manski explores the societal role of labor unions over the last decades, arguing that although that role has changed, they are no less important than in previous generations.
