The Next System Fellows are the newest additions to Mason's prestigious Arlington Fellows program. In addition to studying together in a 4-course program, each Fellow interns with a partner organization, union, research group, or with one of Next System Studies' own projects. Through their internships, Fellows learn via direct engagement with real-world next-system projects such as worker cooperatives and solidarity economy initiatives, campaigns for abolition and political democracy, transition and resilient communities, democratic and sustainable technologies, non-violent conflict resolution and restorative justice projects, and more.

If you're a Mason undergraduate or graduate student who is passionate about making a meaningful impact on the world and you aspire to a career in public service, research, education, entrepreneurship, activism, law, or advocacy, the Next System Fellows is an opportunity of a lifetime. You can discover more about our courses, internship program, and the new field of Next System Studies on our website. You can also Read about 2022's cohort and take a look at this short video to get a sense of the types of experiences our Fellows participate in.
